Teacher Training Summer 2018

In August 2018, RiSC teachers gathered to prepare for year two of the RiSC program where students design and implement their own small scale resiliency projects. The training included a presentation on green infrastructure by Robin Sanchez from the NYC Department of Environmental Protection. Shudipto Rahman, from FEMA Region 2's Risk Analysis Branch, presented FEMA's flood risk mapping tools. The teachers enjoyed a tour of the Javits Center's 6.75-acre green roof, the second largest green roof of its kind in the United States.
